Governor Carney Directs Two-Week Closure of Delaware Public Schools

Governor John Carney on Friday directed all Delaware public schools close from March 16-27, to allow schools to prepare for potential spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). The following is an excerpt from a letter Governor Carney sent to superintendents and charter school leaders on Friday:

Governor Carney Closes All Delaware Schools for Two Weeks

Governor Carney has just announced that all Delaware schools will be closed for the next two weeks. Seaford School District will be closed from March 16th through March 27 until further notice. More information involving the closure will be announced this weekend and early next week. Please stay tuned for updates and be safe.

Seaford's Referendum Passed!

Seaford's Referendum Passed! - The Seaford School District extends its sincere appreciation to our community for supporting the referendum that was approved on March 4, 2020. The passage of this referendum will make a significant difference in the district’s ability to maintain quality educational programs, services and opportunities for children, offset decreasing State revenues, and minimize the impact of future budget reductions on student programs. The school district extends its thanks to so many individuals from our community whose tireless efforts and passion helped pass this referendum in which every vote counted. We look forward to creating a bright future for our students and our community. “Thank You” for your support of the Seaford School District.

District Art Show at Gallery 107

Creative works from art students K-12 will be on display at Gallery 107. This multi-media art show, sponsored by the Seaford School District, highlights Youth Art Month, a national celebration sponsored by the council for Art Education. The annual celebration, which typically takes place in March, emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality arts programs in all schools.

The opening reception for the art show will be held on Friday, March 6 from 5:00-6:30. Student artwork will be on display at Gallery 107 through March 26th. #WeBelieveInBlueJays #SuccessForAllStudents
